If you’ve ever sat in one, you may have noticed the calming effect that comes with the slow back-and-forth motion of a rocking chair. Why let that experience be limited to indoor living only? That feeling defies generation gaps, and we’re here to bridge the gap between indoor and outdoor lounging comfort with our beautiful, highly resilient Adirondack rocking chairs.

Rocking is known to soothe infants, reduce anxiety, depression and stress, and alleviate back pains caused by arthritis by taking pressure off pain points. The mere act of rocking releases endorphins in the brain, helping you relieve stress. Experience it for yourself today, for years to come, with an investment built to last!

Where to Put an Adirondack Rocking Chair

Many rocking chairs are set up in living rooms or parlours, but they work just as well as outdoor furniture when it comes to our solutions. A front porch or veranda is a great spot to put an Adirondack rocking chair, for instance, especially if you have children who play in the front yard or if you want a cozy reading nook outside. Similarly, you can use it in any outdoor space by a cottage or trailer to get the most from your time outside. What’s more, these rocking chairs are easy to fold up and relocate, so your favourite seat never needs to be left behind whenever travelling or changing your favourite reading spot!

    Materials

Our wooden rocking chairs are handcrafted and come in a variety of lumbers including pine, red western cedar woods, and Brazilian walnut (IPE). Each wood species offers something unique in terms of appearance and durability. All lumber, however, is harvested by Forest Stewardship Council certified suppliers, making it the most sustainable and eco-friendly wood in the industry.

We also offer a beautiful and exciting Poly-Luxe line of Adirondack rocking chairs. Poly-Luxe is made out of high-density polyethylene lumber, consisting entirely of recycled plastics. Whether you love black, white, or a pop of red, it’s possible with this material! You even have the option of ordering in a woodgrain variation that looks and performs very much like the real thing, so there’s no shortage of finish and material options!

    Maintenance

The first and best thing you can do for your chair is get it properly treated, a service we offer upon purchase with a special four-stage process utilizing premium SICO ProLuxe stain. By staining the wood, you ensure that it’s more waterproof and resilient. Some lumbers will essentially require this more for proper maintenance and longevity in outdoor conditions, such as pine. Brazilian walnut on the other hand, or IPE, is non-porous, meaning it’s completely waterproof and weather-resistant without staining! For cedar woods, pine, and Poly-Luxe variants, you want to repaint every three years so that the colour is fresh and to keep the chair weather-resistant. Paint and stains will not stick to Brazilian Walnut because of the structure of the wood. For day-to-day cleaning of all of our chairs, however, the process is as easy as washing them down with soap and water every few weeks.
