Continue ShoppingForests are an integral part of the earth's ecosystem. We are proud to do our part in the protection of this very valuable resource by exclusively purchasing wood from suppliers who are Forest Stewardship Council (FSC) Certified.
The FSC certification is considered the "gold standard" designation for wood harvested from forests that are responsibly managed, socially beneficial, environmentally conscious, and economically viable.
Our wood is purchased from mills that use harvested wood from re-growth saving our old growth forests and natural animal habitats. For every tree removed, two new trees are planted in its place thus renewing our wood supply for generations to come.
Wood is naturally bio-degradable and therefore does not end up as landfill. Wood such as our Western Red Cedar and Brazilian Walnut can last many generations before ending up as wood shavings for your great great great grandchild's flower bed.
We also share a concern for the health of our families by avoiding woods that are chemically treated (such as pressure treated which has been linked to serious health issues). With all the concerns over health risks out there, worrying about the wood you are sitting on should be the last thing on your mind when relaxing in the great outdoors. After 50 years of making the finest in outdoor cedar furniture we want to assure each generation to come will be able to enjoy a continued healthy outdoor living lifestyle.
We are proud to handcraft our Poly-Luxe chairs and furnishings using PolyTuf™ Premium Lumber by Tangent.
Each year, Tangent diverts 15,000 tons of HDPE post-consumer recycled milk bottles from the landfill waste stream. That's approximately 210 million plastic milk bottles recovered annually and given new life as 100% Post-Consumer Recycled PolyTuf™ Premium Lumber. Earning Tangent GreenCircle Certification.
